At PLMR, we don’t just work for charities, we are strong supporters of the work they do. As an ethical agency with a strong social conscience, PLMR is proud to support several charity clients, including Cancer Research UK, Duchenne UK, Combat Stress, and Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope. From organising receptions at 10 Downing Street to securing widespread national media coverage, our track record of success in the charitable sector is second to none.
Since our foundation in 2006, we have donated 5% of net profit to charity every year, and in 2010 won the Business Charity Award for Social Investment in recognition of our work for the Springfield Community Flat Project in Lambeth. Many members of the PLMR team have professional experience of working for charities and voluntary organisations, and continue to support them in a personal capacity. In 2012, we entered a team in the London Triathlon, and raised several hundred pounds for Trinity Hospice and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
We have supported the work of Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope, which supports child amputees around the world; and Hope for Children, which helps disabled, orphaned, poor and exploited children, in particular those living in developing countries.
We understand that small and large charities and voluntary organisations have a unique voice in British society – often at the sharp end of Government policies. Our experience, and the organisations we work with every day, mean that we know how to make sure charities’ voices are heard.

PLMR are communication leaders in the animal sector, supporting a wide range of organisations to raise their profile and engage with decision makers. From horseracing to veterinary care, scientific research to farming, we understand the complex issues that arise when working with animals, and help our clients to navigate them with sensitivity.
We’ve spearheaded successful lobbying campaigns on animal welfare issues that have helped to inform the policy debate and change the course of Government legislation, backed by grassroots campaigning. Our work has helped to promote a better understanding of complex animal welfare issues in the media.
PLMR’s team of communications consultants has also worked closely with Defra on national campaigns to amplify the voices of countryside groups, horse owners and riding schools – helping them navigate challenges from Ragwort to business rates. Recently, we have also spearheaded the formation of the APPG for Farming to ensure that Britain’s farming community is well represented in Parliament and consulted throughout the Brexit process.
Our team of experienced consultants understands the animal sector intimately. It includes former professors, veterinary surgeons, non-executive members of the Defra Animal Health and Welfare Board, research experts and farmers, as well as media and public affairs professionals.
Our media experts have considerable experience running the press office of animal research and veterinary institutions, securing opportunities across broadcast, print and online, in the UK and internationally. They are leaders at preparing complex scientific research for wide public consumption and have strong relationships across science media and leading national media. So, whether you’re looking for a tailored PR, public affairs, or digital marketing campaign, we have the experience on hand to really make a difference to your organisation.
