PLMR named Strategic Consultants of the Year at the HealthInvestor Awards 2020

PLMR is delighted to have been crowned HealthInvestor’s ‘Strategic Consultants of the Year’, the first time a communications consultancy has won the highly coveted prize.

PLMR faced stiff competition in a category that has historically been dominated by financial and management consultancies, with previous winners including PwC in 2019 and 2018, and Candesic in 2017.  In 2020, the shortlisted organisations included two of the ‘big four’, PwC and EY.

In the judging period, calendar year 2019, PLMR won 26 new clients and supported a diverse selection of 68 different organisations ranging from RB (formerly Reckitt Benckiser) to HC-One, and from Dental Partners to August Equity. We developed the communications strategies for numerous sales, mergers and acquisitions; the rebranding of a major care provider; delivered a 200%+ increase in new resident sales leads; guided numerous clients through the communications challenges posed by highly sensitive inquests and criminal trials; and helped a small charity to change NHS policy. In our quest to provide the very best service, we were also delighted to have welcomed Shannon Stewart, previously Press Secretary to the New Zealand Health Minister, to our health team.

Commenting on the award win PLMR Head of Health and Social Care, Nathan Hollow, said:

“Winning a HealthInvestor Award is genuinely a dream come true. When I joined PLMR nine years ago a colleague introduced me to HealthInvestor magazine and stressed upon me its importance within the sector.  The hallowed pages of Health Investor are crucial in the UK and the Awards are some of the biggest on the calendar for every financial institution, consultancy and provider operating in the sector.

“It has always been important to PLMR be recognised as genuine experts within the sectors we specialise in. Therefore, when appointed Head of Health and Social Care one of my earliest goals was to win recognition from the healthcare sector for the vital role a well-developed and well executed communications strategy has in helping every organisation achieve success.

“That goal has now been achieved, as PLMR becomes the first communications agency to win at the HealthInvestor Awards. This is a feat which has been years in the planning and development, having been shortlisted in each of the previous two years, and with colleagues across the PLMR business going the extra mile at every opportunity to deliver outstanding results for our clients.

“I am hugely grateful for the support of, and to be able to work with such a wonderful team of consultants at PLMR, without whom we simply wouldn’t be able to deliver such impactful results for a diverse range of clients. We are also incredibly lucky to work with so many interesting and influential clients for whom we can execute award-winning and creative strategic campaigns.

“This is just the beginning for PLMR’s Health and Social Care Team, and our passion and desire to deliver for clients is stronger than ever. We’ll continue working hard every single day to do our part in making the world a better place for those working in or requiring healthcare services.”

Commenting on the award win PLMR Founder and CEO Kevin Craig said:

“I am speechless at this win. My huge congratulations to the many PLMR Team Members who made this possible as well as our super Head of Health and Social Care Nathan for his passion and leadership in this crucial sector.  I am so proud of this business, the people who work here, and our wonderful clients. The Health Investor win is just brilliant for us!”
