SEE YOU IN CANNES…

See you in Cannes…

To call MIPIM simply a ‘property conference’ – as many in the media do when seeking to criticise politicians who attend – is slightly missing the point. Really, MIPIM is about attracting inward investment both into the UK and the UK’s regional economies.

Whilst the UK has a potential reputational issue, fast changing from one of the safest countries in the world to invest to one with an increasing element of risk, MIPIM is important. More important this year, perhaps, than any other.
Attracting over 24,000 property professionals from across the globe, MIPIM is the key opportunity to set out your stall and promote your region, sector or project to an international investment audience.

For the first time, Snapdragon at PLMR will be sending a five-strong delegation to Cannes representing four regional economies; London and south east, the East of England, The Midlands Engine and Scotland.
The opportunities in these regions are clear. In the Midlands, HS2 is already changing the development landscape with Arden Cross and the Curzon Street Masterplan set to be showcased. With local authorities such as Wolverhampton and Walsall, which have huge development pipelines but often get overlooked by international investors, taking centre stage.

In London, the housing challenges are clear, but the focus will be on new infrastructure and the effect it will have on the market. Crossrail, the Bakerloo and Northern Line extension will open new opportunities, much like a new HS2 station will transform Old Oak Common making it a viable proposition for new housing.

The East of England continues to be an exciting prospect, particularly plans for an Oxford – Milton Keynes – Cambridge corridor which will deliver homes, infrastructure and economic growth. Whilst Scotland continues to be the heart of the UK’s energy industry, with more investment planned in offshore wind.

As experts in built environment communications, we have decades of experience promoting development and planning applications, with politicians, press, residents and national government across our respective regions, and the wider UK.

With specialist, public relations, public affairs, crisis communications and digital team we are well placed to support projects across a wide range of sectors, and we look forward to meeting you at MIPIM.
