PROFESSOR TIM MORRIS APPOINTED TO BOARD OF POLITICAL LOBBYING AND MEDIA RELATIONS

Political Lobbying and Media Relations (PLMR) Ltd has today confirmed the appointment of Professor Tim Morris as Non-Executive Director of their fast-growing Westminster-based agency. The move will further strengthen PLMR’s existing credentials in food, agriculture, rural affairs and animal health and welfare.

Professor Morris brings to PLMR a wealth of relevant experience.  He qualified and practised as a veterinary surgeon, obtained a PhD from the University of London and worked in medicines research and then public affairs at GlaxoSmithKline for 20 years, working across industry and with media and governments. He went on to establish and lead the British Horseracing Authority’s medication and anti-doping programme and animal welfare strategy as Director of Equine Science and Welfare. As part of this work he established close working links with other prestigious sports such as the International Equestrian Federation and the Greyhound Board of Great Britain as well as government bodies and animal welfare organisations.

PLMR’s clients have included the British Horseracing Authority, Excel London, the Brazilian Beef Association, Cancer Research UK, global food company Hain Daniels Group, Company Shop and Community Shop, Combat Stress, and the BioIndustry Association. It also worked with the Bingo Association on the recent superbly successful campaign to reduce the duty on Bingo in order to promote jobs and investment.
