In our dispatches from the campaign trail podcast, we speak to people who’ve been campaigning for different parties right across the country to find out what the key issues are for voters in different parts of the country.

Representatives from the Conservatives, Labour, the Lib Dems and the Green Party tell us what the feeling is like ‘on the ground’ in the north, south, east and west of the UK.

Firstly, Sarah Clarke interviews Dani Glazzard from the Green Party, who’s a local council candidate in Bristol West, one of the party’s national targets.

Sarah asks Dani what makes Bristol West a priority.

Dani says it’s the independent spirit of the party as well as its young population which make it a key target at this year’s election.

What are the key issues concerning voters in Bristol West?

Because of the age of the population in the constituency, Dani says the private rented sector is a key issue.

From Bristol we move east to London, where Kevin Craig from PLMR has been out in several constituencies with the Labour party. We ask what is concerning voters there.

Kevin says it varies from place to place but in Old Southwark and Bermondsey (currently a Lib Dem seat) it’s all about the Bedroom Tax and austerity.

We then catch up with Parliament Street’s Tom Hunt. Tom’s a Conservative councillor in Cambridgeshire and is running again in May. He’s been in Peterborough and Stevenage too as he tries to get out the Tory vote.

According to Tom, he’s seen a lot of recognition for the party’s work on the economy, however, there are a number of concerns about a potential Labour and SNP pact.

Lastly we speak to Steven Gauge. Steven has workd on numerous Lib Dem campaigns, and this year he’s been in Wales and Essex with Nick Clegg.

Steven says being in government has really boosted media coverage of this year’s campaign – people recognise Nick Clegg now and there are always those who even want to take selfies with the Deputy PM
