PLMR WINS BIG AT PUBLIC AFFAIRS AWARDS 2016

PLMR WINS BIG AT PUBLIC AFFAIRS AWARDS 2016

PLMR was among the big winners on Thursday night at the 2016 Public Affairs Awards.  The Westminster and Edinburgh-based agency scooped the coveted Consultancy Campaign of the Year Award for the ‘LCY Means Business: Making the Case for London City Airport’s Expansion’ campaign, and the Best In-House Consultancy Collaboration Award for its work with Care England to secure more funding for social care.  In both categories PLMR faced tough competition from the likes of MHP Communications, Newington, Weber Shandwick and others.

By far the premier event in the lobbying calendar, this year’s awards were hosted by the PRCA and presented by Sky News chief political correspondent Jon Craig. Over 350 people attended, and the night was a buzzing way to end a busy year for the sector.  Alongside their category wins, PLMR was also shortlisted for Best Social Media Campaign for Save our Early Years and Stefanie Lehmann and Jonathan Millman were both finalists for The Douglas Smith Prize for best young public affairs professional.  Stephanie Lehmann received a high commendation from the judges.

Judges praised the London City Airport campaign for its “clear strategy, creative and comprehensive tactical execution, with a successful commercial outcome.”  Of the care campaign judges felt it was “a dynamically focused media and public affairs campaign which demonstrably achieved strong outcomes.”
In its 10th year, these are the latest victories for the agency, which has delivered strong growth and repeated campaign success for clients.  The agency won Best In-House Consultancy Collaboration at the Public Affairs Awards 2015, Best Public Affairs Campaign at PRWeek Awards in 2014, it was Public Affairs News Consultancy of the Year by Public Affairs News in 2013 and won two highly sought after Cannes Gold Lions for Creativity in 2011.

Speaking after the ceremony PLMR Founder and Chief Executive, Kevin Craig, said:

“We are thrilled and honoured to have won two prestigious gongs at this year’s Public Affairs awards.  In the ten years since I started the business, we have gone from strength to strength, building a formidable team that delivers award-winning campaigns with impact for our clients. It is wonderful to see the dedication and hard work of the team being recognised with these awards. Both London City Airport and Care England are valued clients and partners and we are proud to share this success with them.”
