PLMR NOMINATED FOR TWO AWARDS FOR ITS DIGITAL WORK

Communications agency PLMR is delighted to have been nominated for two prestigious CorpComms Digi Awards, for its production of an international corporate video and its management of a creative digital campaign.

PLMR’s video for the Crop Trust is a finalist in the ‘Best Video: Corporate’ category. The film, which was conceived, produced, filmed and edited by the digital team at PLMR, follows the story of the first ever withdrawal of seeds from the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, a store of hundreds of thousands of different seeds from the world’s most important crops, preserved inside a mountain inside the Arctic Circle. PLMR’s Head of Broadcast, Mike Ramsden, and Account Director, Tim Knight, filmed the moment when seeds were taken from the Vault to research institutions in Morocco and Lebanon, carrying on the work of a facility in Syria that can’t function because of the civil war. Film shot by the PLMR team was used in reports by CNN and the Discovery Channel, and beamed to more than 200 million homes around the world. The story was featured on 21 international news websites.

The second nomination is for the ongoing ‘#SaveOurEarlyYears’ campaign, led by PLMR Digital Executive, Alex Hackett, and Senior Account Director, Oliver Lane. Campaigners are seeking the reversal of a Government decision that all early years educators with a level 3 qualification must have at least Grade C in GCSE English and Maths – with no equivalent qualifications allowed. It threatens the quality of care of children in early years establishments, and means childcare costs for parents will increase. A bespoke digital campaign has united the early years sector, and led to more than 120,000 interactions on social media, with more than 1,300 people writing individual letters to the Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, asking her to change the legislation.

PLMR Managing Director, Kevin Craig, said;

‘This is a fantastic endorsement of our hugely creative digital team, who are experts in leveraging the power of digital campaigning to achieve tangible results for all our clients.

They’re generous with their expertise across the business, making sure every one of us has the skills for effective digital campaigning that our clients expect.’

PLMR will be attending the awards ceremony on 6th July.
