PLMR Acquires Boutique Comms Agency Mango Marketing

PLMR, the Westminster and Edinburgh-based integrated communications agency, has strengthened its digital, PR and marketing offering by acquiring boutique PR and Marketing agency, Mango Marketing.

Mango Marketing and its team have this week moved to PLMR’s headquarters in Westminster.  Mango was founded by ex-Toshiba Head of Corporate and Public Sector Marketing, Sue Murray, in 2001 and the agency has become highly regarded for its work in technology and education.  Longstanding clients include the Bett Show (the world’s biggest education technology event), LEGO Education and the Education World Forum (the largest annual gathering of education and skills ministers).  Sue Murray and Rachel Womack, Mango’s joint Managing Directors, will join PLMR’s Board and continue to run the Mango business day to day.

Education and technology are both key practice areas for PLMR and bringing Mango into the stable not only adds greater sector depth but also introduces more specialist marketing and digital expertise across the whole business.

Today’s announcement is the first phase of PLMR’s plan to supplement continued organic growth by boosting core practice areas through specialist acquisitions, with the agency seeking to make a second purchase before the end of the year.  PLMR’s existing specialisms, including in planning and property, food and retail, tech, transport and infrastructure, finance, health care and social care, are all areas in which PLMR seeks to build.

PLMR Founder and CEO Kevin Craig said:

“As PLMR continues to grow, we are really excited about this coming together of two strong teams with a shared culture and ethos.  Sue and Rachel have built a fantastic business and talented team at Mango.  We see huge potential in this collaboration and we are all looking forward to enhancing what we can offer to our clients.”

Mango Marketing Founder, Sue Murray, said:

“PLMR’s ethos, reputation and its wide range of services make this a fantastic move for Mango and our clients. The excellent fit extends across the businesses, clients and staff and enables us to continue to offer the same specialist service to our clients while also offering additional value and exciting new opportunities.”
