Arthritis Research: Stakeholder Engagement
In order to raise the profile of a condition that impacts millions people in the UK each year, PLMR identified key stakeholders and secured meetings to ensure Arthritis Research UK (ARUK) reached the policy makers they needed to meet.
In order to progress ARUK’s mission of assisting those living with all forms of arthritis through research and education, PLMR pinpointed the key individuals across England the charity needed to reach. We created visual maps of these individuals, detailing their position, seniority, influence, and area of expertise.
With key stakeholders identified, PLMR launched an engagement campaign targeting those most influential to our cause. Meetings were secured with senior MPs throughout Party Conference season, and we ensured all participants were fully briefed on key issues in advance.
PLMR also supported ARUK to organise receptions and roundtable discussions which gave ARUK an important platform and demonstrated their sector leadership. Relevant policy and legislative documents were researched and monitored, with senior ARUK officials briefed to ensure they were aware of the latest political developments which might impact their work.
We successfully secured meetings with MPs, Government Ministers, Shadow Ministers, and House of Commons Select Committee members, ensuring ARUK’s messages reached the most important decision makers.
Tracey Loftis, Head of Policy and Public Affairs at ARUK, said:
“Your work really helped deliver an outstanding event and I wanted to let you know how happy I’ve been with the work that PLMR has undertaken.”
