This Week in FMQs
admin
This week in FMQs the Conservative leader Ruth Davidson asked questions on a variety of topics and accused the SNP government of ‘dithering and not delivering’ on taking control of welfare powers.
The First Minister stressed that there has been no delay in the transfer of welfare powers and the Scottish Government has to build a system to safely deliver them.
Ms Davidson also criticised the government for not supporting the construction and oil & gas industries, and asked why there has been a delay in the publication of the Scottish Government’s plans for the apprenticeship levy.
Labour leader Kezia Dugdale said that the ScotRail service was not good enough and pointed out that the performance figure for ScotRail yesterday was only 79%. The First Minister responded that her government accepts responsibility for this and that’s why an improvement plan is in place.
Scottish Lib Dem Leader Willie Rennie expressed serious concerns about the government’s mental health strategy proposal. Nicola Sturgeon agreed more needed to be done and pointed out that the strategy is in draft form to allow for consultation with frontline professionals.
