The Week Ahead in Holyrood - 28/02/2017

On Tuesday Topical Questions will focus on Police Scotland’s 10 year strategy, and encouraging more people to train as teachers.

This will be followed by an Economy, Jobs and Fair Work Committee Debate which notes the conclusions and recommendations contained in the Committee’s Report on the Economic Impact of Leaving the European Union. Finally, Members’ Business will be sponsored by SNP MSP Kenneth Gibson and will focus on the It’s OK to Talk. Period campaign. This will draw attention to the impact of endometriosis on the lives of the 10% of women of reproductive age who are living with the condition.

On Wednesday, Portfolio Questions will focus on Culture, Tourism and External Affairs. There will also be two Scottish Conservative debates on the Abolition of the Scottish Funding Council Board and the New BBC Scotland Digital Channel. This will be followed by Members’ Business, sponsored by Scottish Conservatives MSP Alexander Steward, and focussing on the Safe Drive, Stay Alive Project which has been educating young people on the seriousness of complacency, recklessness or dangerous activity behind the wheel.

Thursday’s General Questions will be followed by First Minister’s Questions. SNP MSP Fulton MacGregor will then lead Members’ Business by addressing Apprenticeship Week. This will be followed by a Ministerial Statement on the Child Protection Improvement Programme and a Scottish Government Debate on the Scottish Patient Safety Programme. Finally, there will be a Legislative Consent Motion on the UK Criminal Finances Bill.
