The Week Ahead in Holyrood - 19/06/2017
On Tuesday, there will be two Ministerial Statements on Policing 2026 and the Next Steps for the Crofting Commission, respectively. There will also be a Stage 3 debate on the Air Departure Tax (Scotland) Bill. This is the final stage of debate before the Scottish Parliament decides whether to pass the bill. Finally, there will be a Financial Resolution on the Seat Belts on School Transport (Scotland) Bill. If passed, this bill will ensure that seat belts become a legal requirement on all dedicated home-to-school transport in Scotland
On Wednesday, there will be a Members’ Business debate on Motor Neurone Disease Global Awareness Day. This debate is sponsored by SNP MSP Christina McKelvie and notes the work of Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Scotland and the Global MND Awareness Day. This is followed by Portfolio Questions on Health and Sport. Next, there will be two Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party Debates on Transparent Government and Agriculture. Members’ Business will be sponsored by Conservative MSP Alexander Stewart, and focusses on Stroke Care in Scotland, with reference to specialist services which are unavailable in rural areas.
Thursday’s General Questions will be followed by First Minister’s Questions. Scottish Liberal Democrat MSP, Tavish Scott, will then lead Members’ Business with a debate on Island Games, Support Scotland’s Athletes. At 2.30pm there will be a Ministerial Statement on Provisional Outturn 2016-17. This will be immediately followed by the Stage 3 Proceedings on the Limitation (Childhood Abuse) (Scotland) Bill.comments powered by Disqus
