The Week Ahead in Holyrood - 08/05/2017

On Tuesday there will be a Ministerial Statement on Forensic Examination. This will be followed by a Stage One debate on the Railway Policing (Scotland) Bill. The Bill sets out the framework for devolved railway policing in Scotland. Members’ Business will then be led by Scottish Labour MSP Pauline McNeill and will focus on Food Banks, Scotland’s Hunger Crisis. It will call on the Scottish Parliament to condemn the benefit cuts and sanctions that are being imposed by the UK Government.

On Wednesday, Portfolio Questions will focus on Health and Sport. Next, there will be a Scottish Labour Party Debate on Health. This will be followed by Members’ Business, led by SNP MSP Emma Harper who will call on Parliament to celebrate International Nurses Day on 12 May 2017.

Thursday’s General Questions will be followed by First Minister’s Questions. Next, SNP MSP Gail Ross, will lead Members’ Business and draw Parliament’s attention to chronic fatigue syndrome with a debate on International ME Day. Finally, at 2.30pm there will be a Scottish Parliament debate on Keeping Children Safe Online.
