HOW TO MAXIMISE YOUR TIME AT BETT 2018

How to maximise your time at Bett 2018

If you’re attending the Bett show this year, you might already be struggling to work out exactly what you’re going to do there and who you’re going to see. With so much going on, whether you’re an educator looking to find the latest innovations and solutions for your school or a supplier hoping to increase those sales figures, it can become overwhelming! If this sounds familiar, read on.

Write down your priorities
Before you go, or before the start of each day, make a list of who you want to reach out to and your key objectives. This is a simple but efficient way to see how realistic your expectations are and wean out anything that can be left to quieter parts of the day or not at all. Make a rough schedule to guide you, but everyone knows that one hour seems more like one minute at Bett, so remain open to changes!

Research
If you’re looking to network and have particular people or businesses in mind, spend some time researching them. Create a quick bio to refer to before you arrange to meet to ensure their key messages are fresh in your mind to ensure you both get the most out of that conversation, and if you are a supplier, this gives you a quick reference for explaining your services.

Take a lap
On your first day at Bett, arrive on time and walk around the venue. It’s easy to get lost and you don’t want to be late for a meeting if you’ve misread the map and have ended up on the other side of the hall! Before the madness begins, take note of stands you want to visit and familiarise with key landmarks to signpost your way to exits and seminar spaces, such as the Bett Arena.

Take advantage of the resources available
To really streamline your experience, search for the Bett app on your iPhone or Android smartphone. You can search for products, suppliers and events but the key benefit is the ‘favourite’ function, so you can pull up the information for these quickly and efficiently.
Within the app there is also Connect@Bett, which allows you to seek out and target other visitor and exhibitor profiles based on needs and objectives you select when creating your profile. Through the system you can request and arrange meetings, only accepting those relevant to you.
So this year, go in with a plan and make the most out of your time at Bett – it’ll make your visit both more enjoyable and successful!
