Uche provides Public Affairs and Media Relations support to clients across a range of sectors, particularly Health & Social Care, Business Tourism, Sports and Gambling, and the Third Sector. As well as leading clients’ political engagement with Westminster and City Hall, Uche contributes to broader Public Affairs campaigns with specific policy and legislative aims. Uche also contributes to the planning and implementation of PR strategies, co-ordinates clients’ engagement with journalists, and has a wealth of experience in securing coverage for clients in the press, on the radio and on television. Uche also has experience of drafting speeches for clients to be delivered by business leaders to audiences of several hundred people, which include stakeholders, politicians and the media.
Uche joined PLMR from a competitor agency, where he conducted detailed political and media monitoring, supported executives with Select Committee training, and assisted colleagues in securing new business. Prior to this, Uche spent a year at Amnesty International, working on an International Advocacy project centred around lobbying the UN to strengthen the Draft UN Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training.
Away from work Uche is politically active, and got his first taste of electoral politics in 2004 when he participated in the John Kerry Campaign in Miami, Florida. There his work focused primarily on registering and ‘bringing out the vote’ among the immigrant Haitian community.
Uche graduated with an MA(Hons) in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Edinburgh.
