As Managing Director, Elin is responsible for leading the PLMR team and providing senior counsel and strategic advice to clients across the business.
Since joining PLMR in 2008 Elin has directed award-winning Media Relations and Public Affairs campaigns, achieved tax cuts in the Budget, delivered national print and broadcast media coverage, organised visits and speeches with Cabinet Members, facilitated high profile public exhibitions, helped secure planning permission for multi-million pound projects, led select committee training and messaging sessions, briefed participants in Parliamentary Debates, engaged regularly with MPs and Councillors and advised Senior Leadership Teams when reputations have been challenged.
Elin works with clients big and small, from charities campaigning on issues of social justice, to publicly listed companies promoting and protecting corporate reputations. She has been instrumental to PLMR’s growth and has been recognised as an industry rising star by both PRWeek and Public Affairs News.
In education, Elin champions some of the country’s most innovative providers. From single schools pioneering new models of state education, to ambitious Multi-Academy Trusts, looking to expand or raise their profile. Her work in education contributed to PLMR winning two Gold Lions at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity and being Highly Commended by PRWeek. She is a former Board member of the Centre for Education Economics and a current Governor of free school, Walthamstow Primary Academy.
In food and resources, Elin advises the UK’s largest redistributor of supply chain surpluses and helped launch the UK’s first social supermarket. She also provides public affairs advice to one of Britain’s favourite household food brands and oversees a team working on energy projects, representing global providers.
In health and social care Elin works with NHS Trusts, trade bodies, charities and independent providers to communicate key messages, raise profile through effective PR campaigns, position to engage politically, conduct outreach to key patient and user groups and importantly, providing Board level support, advice and media handling in crisis scenarios at the highest level.
When not delivering for clients or overseeing company development as a member of PLMR’s Board, Elin is a regular ambassador and spokesperson for the company. She has given expert commentary in print and broadcast media and she regularly presents at conferences and events on communications. Elin is a Member of the IOD, holds a Master’s Degree in International Development from the LSE and achieved a First Class Honours at UCL in Politics and East European Studies.
