As account director & deputy team leader, Anokhi works as a key member of the PLMR team providing high quality servicing to clients. Often described as ‘a media guru’, a key part of her role involves developing potential press opportunities, liaising with the media on behalf of clients, and executing ideas that gain results. Anokhi has a positive and proactive approach and ensures outstanding delivery across her accounts, which range from health and social care, third sector and education, right the way through to financial services and the life science and biotechnology industry.
Anokhi is particularly interested in financial products and markets and knows exactly what journalists are looking for when it comes to covering a client’s story. Prior to joining PLMR, Anokhi worked within financial public relations, for clients ranging from banks and city-based trade bodies to accountancy and insurance firms, where she secured national print and broadcast coverage, including the Financial Times, The Times and BBC News, on a daily basis.
Anokhi has also made a significant contribution to support and drive the policy and strategic side of a significant national campaigns, and over her time at PLMR, she has gained increased exposure to wider policy issues and undertakes public affairs activities regularly. This includes understanding Westminster policy and its impact on clients and drafting correspondence to and engaging with key political stakeholders.
In 2017-18, Anokhi was also a key member of the PLMR trio that secured a government U-turn on the requirements for early years educator apprenticeships, after only one year. The strategy was to create a bedrock of support using social media, which would be boosted by a more traditional PR and public affairs campaign.
Anokhi is passionate about raising awareness of social issues and causes, especially within Human Rights, and was once part of a fast-paced communications team working for The Princess Royal Trust for Carers (now Carers Trust). She is also a volunteer corporate ambassador for the children’s charity Brainwave, who support children living with physical, sensory, learning, cognitive and behavioural difficulties. In her own time, she regularly attends corporate and fundraising events to represent the organisation, and supports them with pro-bono PR and Communications activity whenever possible.
