As Deputy Managing Director at PLMR, Elin works closely with client teams to assess campaign requirements, develop effective strategy and implement tactics that deliver success. Since joining PLMR in 2008 Elin has led on award-winning Media Relations and Public Affairs campaigns, delivered national print and broadcast media coverage, organised visits and speeches with Cabinet Members, facilitated high profile public exhibitions, helped secure planning permission for multi-million pound projects, briefed participants in Parliamentary Debates, engaged regularly with MPs and Councillors and acted as a spokesperson for clients when reputations have been challenged. Her work was recognised in 2011 when she was shortlisted as a ‘Rising Star’ in the industry at the Public Affairs News Awards.
In energy and natural resources, Elin was a core member of the team that campaigned for consent for the UK’s first sustainable biomass from waste powerstation and she currently advises the country’s largest surplus stock redistributor as it works with retailers and manufacturers to tackle food waste.
In education, Elin leads a team that works closely with some of the country’s most innovative providers. This includes one of the largest primary academies in the country, whom PLMR has supported to campaign for a better future for its pupils to key stakeholders. This school has become a flagship institution, synonymous with high aspirations and excellent outcomes for all, with PLMR’s work securing two Gold Lions at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity and receiving a Highly Commended Certificate from PR Week.
In health and social care Elin works with NHS Trusts, trade bodies and independent providers to communicate key messages, raise profile through effective PR campaigns, position to engage politically, conduct outreach to key patient and user groups and importantly, providing Board level support, advice and media handling in crisis scenarios at the highest level.
When not delivering for clients or contributing to PLMR’s growth, Elin is a regular ambassador and spokesperson for the company - she has given expert commentary in print and broadcast media and is currently Vice Chair of the PRCA Public Affairs Group. Elin is a Member of the IOD, holds a Master’s Degree in International Development from the LSE and achieved a First Class Honours at UCL in Politics and East European Studies.
